Ten wounds attributable to two shots fired from the front.

Thus Matteo Murgia , the 40-year-old shepherd murdered in the night between Monday and Tuesday in the fold with attached stable in Gesturi, was killed.

This is what emerges from the autopsy performed today at the Policlinico di Monserrato by Dr. Roberto Demontis. The coroner found ten holes in the chest.

Further confirmation comes from the investigations being carried out by the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Sanluri, led by Captain Aldo Meluccio, and by the investigating unit of Cagliari, coordinated by Major Nicola Pilia: the killer was probably hidden behind the wall of the sheepfold, in waiting for the arrival of Murgia. Maybe he called him to turn him around and then explode the shots.

The victim, taken by surprise, could not even hint at an escape.

The carabinieri in these days are listening to friends, relatives and acquaintances of the victim to reconstruct the last days of his life and to identify a possible motive and a path to follow to identify the killer.

Married and father of two children, after the separation Murgia lived at his parents' house and occasionally worked in Cagliari for a construction company. But he mainly took care of his horses, kept in a stable, annexed to the sheepfold, which he had rented from the Municipality.
