Increased security at sensitive sites throughout the ET project, from information points to the mine, its workers, and associated companies, as well as video surveillance. This decision was made yesterday by the Provincial Committee for Law and Order, convened at the Prefecture in Nuoro by Prefect Alessandra Nigro, and requested by Cagliari's Attorney General, Luigi Patronaggio. Nuoro's Attorney General, Daniele Rosa, also attended the meeting. This initial and immediate response comes after the arson attack on the vehicles of INGV researchers and the five gunshots fired at the house the two were renting in Lula. For now, but the option has already been explored by law enforcement agencies, there will be no additional permanent police presence at the Sos Enattos mines, in the style of the No TAV movement.

The investigations

The investigation at the foot of Montalbo is running on two parallel tracks, which have not yet crossed. But it's not out of the question that they will. On one side is the file opened three years ago with the suspicion of terrorism, following the unexploded bomb found at Sos Enattos. This file is being handled by the Cagliari District Anti-Mafia Directorate, where the Carabinieri of the ROS (Special Operations Unit) are working with the utmost confidentiality. On the other side is the more recent file, opened by the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office in the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the cars of Carlo Giunchi and his partner, Spina Cianetti, researchers at the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology). The case is being investigated for criminal damage, and is being handled directly by the Chief Prosecutor of the Barbagia Prosecutor's Office, Daniele Rosa. The Investigative Unit of the Nuoro Provincial Command, along with members of the Bitti Company, are working on this case. And regarding the investigation, investigators have concluded that the perpetrator was almost certainly not alone. They await answers from the shell casings recovered from the five gunshots fired at the house, which are now being examined by the RIS in Cagliari.
