Today was also a busy day on the fire front in Sardinia.

Seven fires broke out throughout the island, in three cases the intervention of regional and national fleet aircraft was necessary to put them down.

The most important fire, the one that led to the temporary closure of state road 131 because the flames were near the road, developed in Macomer in the Su mattedu area. In action three Canadair and five helicopters of the regional fleet including the Super Puma which dropped water bombs on the area. The fire, put out in the late afternoon, devoured 40-50 hectares of forest and wooded pastures.

On the other hand, the fire that broke out in the morning in Birori, in the locality of Terra ruggia, covered 300 square meters of pastures. to turn it off, two vehicles from the regional fleet also had to intervene.

A single helicopter instead dropped water bombs on the fire that developed in Lodè in the Bitteddi area. The fire covered an area of about one hectare of wooded pasture.
