Fifty kilos of marijuana were found in a warehouse in the town of Seulo by the carabinieri of the village station who seized them. But the seizure decree is running out because there was a lack of notification in the review hearing . In the meantime, the defenders of the farmer denounced on the loose for detention for the purpose of drug dealing, the lawyers Stefano Murgia and Pier Andrea Setzu, took the field, reiterating how the material found is of the very normal cannabis light : "Our client" , they underline, “he is one of those many honest Sardinian farmers who are cultivating a product that, due to too jagged interpretations, find themselves in the dock. In the silence of trade associations ".
The kidnapping
Marijuana, according to the prosecution, was divided into 49 boxes and ready to be put on the market . The search was carried out on 9 June after the military had smelled a strong smell coming from inside the building. Hence the discovery of the packages on the first and second floors of the house . A 44-year-old from Seulo got into trouble, but he immediately challenged the seizure order before the Review Court of Nuoro presided over by judge Vincenzo Amato.
The review hearing
With two separate briefs filed with the judges, lawyers Stefano Murgia and Pier Andrea Setzu highlighted a lack of notification of the convocation of the hearing which was declared void. Consequently, given the absence of technical times, the Freedom Tribunal will be called to annul the seizure decree .
The investigation
In the meantime, the defenders have already let investigators know that the fifty kilos of marijuana that ended up in the crosshairs of the Lanusei prosecutor's office would come from a light drug plantation, the so-called light cannabis, with a very low active ingredient . The suspect, in fact, had already proceeded to analyze the material that had shown a Thc rate well within the normal limits. It will now be necessary to understand what the Prosecutor's Office will decide to do, given that the fifty kilos are now being released from seizure and destined to be returned to the Seulo farm. The prosecutor could therefore have his own advice to be compared with that already made by the defense.
