Sestu, car crashes on the guardrail and flies off the 131 overpass: the driver dies
A 52-year-old man was driving the car, perhaps he fell asleep. Firefighters, traffic police and ambulances on site

Fatal accident in the night on the 131, between Sestu and San Sperate.
Due to causes under investigation , a 52-year-old Ignazio Melis, from Cagliari residing in Sestu, lost control of the car which flew off the overpass and overturned. He was killed on impact.
It happened at the Eva Arredamenti store. According to an initial reconstruction, the man, aboard his Opel Astra station wagon, was walking the ramp to enter the roundabout when, perhaps due to a stroke of sleep , he crashed into the guardrail.
The car tore the metal protections off the asphalt and fell into the void for a few metres, overturning . Passing motorists triggered the alarm.
On the spot the firefighters who extracted the victim from the car's sheet metal, provided for the safety of the vehicle and the road, and the health personnel who could not do anything but ascertain the death of the 52-year-old .
The Sanluri Traffic Police intervened for the investigations and legal findings.
