Separate collection, Sardinia in second place in Italy

Sardinia is second in Italy in the special classification on separate collection and recycling drawn up by Anci-Conai on the occasion of the dissemination of the 11th report on waste management.

On the first step of the podium there is the Veneto with 75.9 percent of differentiated, on the third Lombardy with 73 percent, while the island registers a 74 percent (+13.9 compared to the 2016-2020 period ).

Lagging behind - again on 2020 data - are Sicily with 42.2 percent and Calabria with 48 percent.

In total, the percentage of separate collection in 2020, the year of Covid, reached 62.9%, marking an increase of 10.3% compared to the 2016-2020 period.
