Osilo: Woman who abandoned newborn baby under car sentenced to six years and eight months

Six years and eight months.

This is the sentence handed down by preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca, currently in court in Sassari, for the woman from Osilo who, in October 2023, gave birth and placed the newborn under a car outside her home.

The defendant, who chose the abbreviated trial procedure assisted by lawyers Pietro Fresu and Elisa Caggiari, was charged with attempted murder.

During the hearing, prosecutor Maria Paola Asara had requested a 10-year sentence.
