The exhibition "Arbores – Fogli di bosco" (Arbores – Leaves of the Forest), a solo exhibition by Ogliastra-born artist Anna Maria Congiu, known in the art scene as Annacò, will open on Saturday, June 13th at 6:00 PM at the Domu Nosta Archaeological Museum (MADN) in Senorbì. Having studied at the Nuoro Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari, where she studied and subsequently taught printmaking, the artist has been pursuing research for years that intertwines drawing, painting, and graphic art. "At the heart of her work," says the museum's director, Elisabetta Frau, "is the world of trees, interpreted as symbols of life, memory, and resilience."
The exhibition offers a powerfully evocative journey, in which tree trunks, bark, and branches become the focus of a reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature. The works depict an environment marked by human intervention, yet still capable of preserving vital energy, stories, and the potential for rebirth. The installation, curated by Marcella Serreli, guides visitors along an imaginary path through the woods, transforming the exhibition experience into an invitation to reflect on the themes of environmental protection, collective responsibility, and landscape care. "'Arbores' thus presents itself as an exhibition of great poetic and civic power, where the rigor of the artistic mark combines with a profound sensitivity to the natural world and its fragility," concludes Frau.
