An old popular proverb says "to be as lucky as a dog in church". It is an ironic way of saying that one has been the target of bad luck, this is because four-legged friends - since ancient times - have often been chased away from places of worship.

This is not what happened to the little stray who yesterday, before a religious function, entered the parish church of Santa Barbara di Senorbì undisturbed .

The little dog, perhaps shivering, approached the altar and took a seat in front of the empty seats in a nave of the cult building. Amused and surprised the parish priest Don Nicola Ruggeri who, in a Franciscan spirit, not only did not chase away the singular guest but published a photograph on his Facebook profile accompanied by a witty comment: “What time is confirmation? Issu already ready” .

The puppy is a poor stray who has been wandering around the streets of Senorbì for a few days. Fortunately, once through the church door, he came across a priest who demonstrated by example that tolerance and acceptance are basic virtues of the Christian religious message .
