The prizes were awarded to the citizens of Selegas who distinguished themselves with initiatives of merit capable of giving prestige to the community. On the occasion of the closing of the Fueddus literary festival, the mayor Alessio Piras presented the “Dea Madre d'Oro” prize to the entrepreneur Franco Cocco and to the historic family doctor Marino Frau «for having been able to give value, dignity and prestige to the town and the local community».

Franco Cocco is the founder of the Villa Trexenta residence built in Selegas several years ago, a place of welcome for all the elderly who need special support, outside of their family context. "Although he is not originally from our community - said Piras - he knew how to believe in it and invest in it, donating resources, vision, sensitivity and respect. His work has left a concrete mark, creating value and opportunities". For over forty years, the general practitioner Marino Frau has served the community of the small town of Trexenta with competence, humility and exemplary dedication. "A human and professional point of reference, who has honored the Hippocratic oath every day with passion and dedication", concluded the mayor.

In Selegas, a statue was dedicated to the Mother Goddess of Turriga, a prehistoric Sardinian icon that also inspired the annual award called the Golden Mother Goddess. The statue, which represents the Nuragic Mother Goddess, symbol of fertility and the cycle of life, was inaugurated in 2019 and is located in the heart of the town, near the church square.
