The streets and the historical center of Selegas welcome from this morning the crowd of visitors and tourists attracted by the food and wine and craft stands promoted on the occasion of Saboris Antigus.

The review that showcases the culture, craftsmanship and food and wine of the Sarcidano and Trexenta villages today, Sunday 13 November, stops in Selegas, the center between two valleys at the foot of Mount Nuritzi. Open doors in the "Domus" and in the churches, the streets and squares of the center host the stands of taste and traditions.

The circuit, led by the Cagliari-Oristano Chamber of Commerce, started last Sunday with the stage hosted in Gergei: it was a great success. From Sarcidano to Trexenta: success confirmed today too. There is a queue to visit the manor houses, such as Casa Puddu, Casa Erriu, Sa Domu de sa Contissa, Sa Ziminera, Ex Cinema, and there will be the opportunity to visit places of worship: the church of Sant'Anna, San Gioacchino and the Museum of Sacred Art. Also worth seeing are the many murals that embellish the town, including those created by the local artist Luigi Pu (who died in 2015) and his works preserved in the laboratory house in the Seuni hamlet.

The name of the town, Selegas, is linked to the abundant cultivation of rye, the "black bread" of the plebs of Rome - or from segetes, "cereals", therefore "land of Ceres" protector of fields and crops. The structure of the town is typically rural: the houses are low and the facades are embellished with murals that tell the story of the daily life and social organization of the place.

In the center of the village stands the parish church of Sant'Anna, in Pisan-Gothic style from the 12th-13th century. The bell tower has four bells and the Seligas engraving is found on the oldest (1608). In Selegas the white marble statue known as the mother goddess from Turriga was also found. The day will end with a concert by Maria Luisa Congiu and a fireworks display.
