The Selargino Marriage (Sa coja antiga) is repeated after a year of stoppage linked to Covid. This morning the presentation of the newlyweds, Francesca and Mirko, and of the program in the presence of the mayor Gigi Concu, the councilor for Culture Roberta Relli, other administrators and the leaders of the Pro Loco has always been the protagonist of this splendid appointment together with the municipal administration.

And today the mayor also gave another good news. The cases of Covid in Selargius have been reduced to two. "From the last bulletin there are only two positives, I like to think that this edition of the Ancient Selargino wedding represents - said the mayor - also for this reason a sign of rebirth".

The usual press conference this morning, in the church of San Giuliano, begins with two good news and the emotion printed on the faces of the two betrothed who until the last waited to know the date and method of the rite, resized due to the restrictions due to the pandemic that has loosened its grip but still frightens us. "After a constant work that involved the Pro Loco, the security officers, the offices, and which saw the maximum commitment of all, we can finally announce that after last year's stop, we are ready to regain possession of our most important identity event ”, reiterated the mayor.

PASSWORD "REBIRTH" - The word rebirth is the leitmotif of the new edition, which "I believe takes on an added value by marking a new important step to regain that normality that certainly does not diminish the joy of Francesca and Mirko, but forces us to propose a remodeled program in compliance with the anti-Covid regulations ", the councilor for Culture Roberta Relli intervenes, who this year will allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of some of the most representative sites of Selargius: from the afternoon of Saturday 23 and up the churches of Sant'Antonio and San Giuliano will be open to the public all day on Sunday.

Doors also open to the Semù museum, from Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend.

At the presentation also the councilor for decentralization policies and relations with neighborhood communities Cristina Pilo, in agreement with her colleagues on the meaning of the rebirth and who strongly wanted to extend the celebrations also to Su Planu: "A neighborhood that has always pays the price for its physical distance from the inhabited center, and which I felt it was my duty to involve in the event ”, he underlines.

On Friday 22nd, the students of the Su Planu inclusive institute will approach the ancient rite thanks to the commitment of the Pro Loco which will show them the various stages of the Marriage. Clearly, Gianni Frau, the historic president of the city's Pro Loco, could not be missing: “We waited until the end for the authorizations to be able to return this long-awaited appointment to all the Selargini”, he comments. “Selargius regains possession of his ritual, which, however limited, represents a celebration for our spouses and for all of us”.
