Those three sharp shots still seem to resonate in the countryside of Sedilo.

Three gunshots fired, one fatal for Filippo Vidili, the 50-year-old from Oristano killed by mistake by a hunting companion. These are the first elements that emerge from the investigation ordered by the Oristano prosecutor's office to clarify the circumstances of the accident on Friday afternoon and any responsibilities. And in the meantime, there is great dismay and emotion for the sudden death of the blacksmith, a long-time resident of Bosa and very close to the world of the Sartiglia.

Filippo Vidili was a guest of a company from Sedilo on Friday, together with a friend, to inaugurate the big game hunting season. Nine enthusiasts were spending a day in the open air, then in the late morning the unexpected event that transformed what should have been a celebration into a tragedy. From the initial reconstruction of the investigators, it seems that the 50-year-old was lying in wait for the wild boar: then the animal passed quickly and the shot was fired. At that point Vidili approached but, at that precise moment, it was dark.

The hunting companion, in a nearby position, hearing movement and thinking it was another wild boar, fired. Three single-ball shots, one hitting the prey, one hitting a rock and the other hitting his friend. Vidili had time to say a few words, he also turned to his companion before collapsing to the ground and losing consciousness. Despite resuscitation attempts, which continued for over forty minutes, there was nothing that could be done for the sartigliante. The wounds to his abdomen were too serious.

The investigations for manslaughter , coordinated by the prosecutor Silvia Mascia, are expected to be quite complex even if the dynamics seem quite clear. However, many other elements useful for clarifying what happened will have to be ascertained. The investigators have been interviewing all the hunters who were in the Padru area, near the 131 Dcn, until late at night, and it is not excluded that further clarifications or details will be requested in the coming days. And expert assessments will have to be carried out on the weapons, in particular on the one that fired the fatal shot which, according to what has emerged so far, belongs to a hunter from Cagliari, who was a guest of the Sedilo company. The man is being investigated for manslaughter, an act necessary for his protection and obviously to be able to carry out all the unrepeatable checks required in these cases.

Meanwhile, tomorrow in the Court of Oristano the task will be given to the coroner Roberto Demontis who will have to carry out the autopsy (perhaps as early as tomorrow or Tuesday), then it will be possible to give the last farewell to the unfortunate sartigliante.
