Thanks to the research work of the folk association “Santu Juanni Battista” chaired by Mario Melosu, the Sedilo community has regained possession of a piece of the history of women's costume.

«We discovered», says coordinator Annarita Nanu, «through an archaeologist, that the traditional female dress also had a purple-red colored version . At the beginning many were sceptical, because there were no memories, but then it was possible to demonstrate, also through a text by Casalis written in 1836, that everything was correct."

On purple red zippone, adds Nanu, «it was part of the women's dress that had been donated by the Zonchello family to the maids. We found one in the retirement home, the other in the home of a 96-year-old woman."
