The Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, through prosecutor Angelo Beccu, has requested the dismissal of four suspects involved in the investigation into the murder of Mario Sedda, the 39-year-old street poet from Porto Torres, found dead on April 1, 2021, behind a bush on a plot of land at the entrance to the city.
Emanuele Sircana, a 20-year-old from Porto Torres who was a minor at the time of the crime, is currently in prison on murder charges. Pietro Diaz, a civil party lawyer representing his sister Eleonora Sedda, has filed an objection to the dismissal of the case for one of the suspects, Salvatore Carboni, the 22-year-old defended by Luigi Esposito, who appears in video surveillance footage accompanying Sircana to the crime scene. The young man allegedly played a significant role in the murder.
This morning, technical tests began on the clothes Mario Sedda was wearing at the time of his murder.
The Cagliari RIS will also analyze soil samples taken from the green area where the 39-year-old was killed between March 29 and 30, 2021. Alessandra Delrio, the lawyer defending Sircana, has appointed geneticist Stefano Gessa as an expert witness. Emanuele Sircana is currently being held in the Quartucciu juvenile prison.
