There were 3,498 patrols of the State Police operational to guarantee safety on the roads of Sardinia in the first quarter of the year and on the occasion of the Easter holidays.

The officers carried out checks on the speed , on the use of seat belts and mobile phones while driving , and on the psychophysical conditions of the drivers .

In particular, 190 reports were made with the appropriate meters, telelasers and speed cameras which took 954 frames. There were 1,409 speeding penalties recorded. In total, there were 9,696 disputed infractions, 215 people reported, 2 arrests.

During the checks on the correct use of the restraint systems and the use of the mobile phone, 1,157 infringements were found.

Instead, during the checks on the psychophysical conditions of the drivers, carried out in collaboration with medical personnel of the State Police, through the Drug test equipment, 232 drivers were sanctioned for driving under the influence of alcohol and 7 for driving under the influence of substances narcotic or psychotropic drugs.

Withdrawn 89 licenses and 11 registration certificates. In addition, 13 vehicles were seized, including 7 for confiscation purposes.

During the prevention operations on the so-called "Saturday night massacres", a total of 4,087 drivers were checked with breathalyzers and precursors. 12.6% of these tested positive for the blood alcohol test. 89 people were reported for driving while intoxicated and 1 for driving under the influence of narcotic or psychotropic substances.
