Between aperitifs and after-shows, breathtaking sunsets, and authentic flavors, the Aglientu Summer Blues Festival returns. From August 18th to 20th, three nights of international music with a Mediterranean soul, centered on the blues, take to the stage for the seventeenth edition, a sonic journey from the Mississippi Delta to the heart of the Mediterranean. Twelve artists, four per evening, starting at 6:30 PM and running until 1:00 AM, the lineup for the blues festival in the heart of Gallura opens with the acoustic groove of Andrea De Luca, a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar and lap steel, and continues with a tribute to the late Pino Daniele, bringing the Neapolitan singer's legendary musicians to the main stage in "Blues for Pino." Then, from the States, Luke Winslow - King and The Leghorn Band take the stage in an eclectic mix of folk, traditional jazz, and blues, followed by the blues-rock of "Boar to Be Wild."

On August 19th, the blues aperitif is with Sponkyman, a one-man funk-blues band. The heart of the evening beats with the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra, featuring wind instruments and 1970s inspiration, and The Crowsroads, an Italian folk duo with a stripped-down sound. It closes with the Hot Strings, an acoustic band with a repertoire ranging from swing classics to gypsy jazz. The final night shines with stars such as Martin Barre, the historic guitarist for Jethro Tull who collaborated with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, and also voted one of the greatest soloists of all time in the US and UK, which also earned him a 1989 Grammy Award, and the James Oliver Band, with the Welsh guitarist's blues, rock 'n' roll, country, and boogie. The evening opens with Marco Farris and closes with Uncle Pine. The event is organized by the La Muita association with the support of the Municipality of Aglientu, the Region, and the Fondazione di Sardegna. It is part of the Salude e trigu framework program of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, which aims to promote the area from a tourism perspective through cultural initiatives and the traditions of northern Sardinia.
