The appeal launched by the Oristano Local Health Authority is very clear: «Do the necessary checks to prevent breast cancer, but help us carry out the oncological screenings as best as possible, alerting us if for any problem you cannot undergo the checks already booked».

It is the doctor Mario Piras, director of the Health Professions, Prevention Area, who addresses all the women of the Oristano area aged between 50 and 69, to whom the regional health service offers a free check-up with mammography to be repeated every two years as part of the breast cancer screening program. However, there are often some inconveniences that cause inconvenience.

This is why they are asking for more collaboration from the local health authority, so that they can put other people on the waiting list. «Interested women first make an appointment - explained Doctor Piras - by calling the toll-free number 800186000 or the mobile phone 3668105066 from Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm and on Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm or by sending an email to screening.oristano@asloristano. it . The booking must then be confirmed, so that it is not lost, at least seven days before the appointment. Same useful time also to reschedule the same appointment in case of needs that arise. The same telephone numbers or emails can be used to reschedule the appointment."

From next Monday 30 October , a new messaging system will also be launched on the mobile phones of patients who have booked the visit, through which women will be able to confirm, move or cancel the appointment.

The checks are carried out in the screening center of the ASL 5 of Oristano, at the San Martino hospital.
