Say yes by the sea, without a white dress and without jackets, ties and bow ties: completely naked.

It could soon happen, among the first places in Italy, in San Vero Milis , where the mayor Luigi Tedeschi and his council are examining the legislation to allow couples who wish to get married without veils, in a civil ceremony, on the naturist beach of Is Benas.

The inspiration – reports Ansa – came from a German couple, who asked to be able to get married at the end of the summer and without wearing any clothes on the shell beach, on the border with Is Arenas . It is one of the six beaches in Sardinia - two more are soon to be established - and one of the 23 places in Italy, authorized by the Municipalities to which they belong, where it is possible to practice naturism in safety and tranquility, in compliance with the rules and without incurring sanctions administrative.

«Sardinia is a true paradise for those who love living in close contact with nature - explains the mayor - We identified Is Benas because it offers the possibility of being married with or without clothing. There are beaches in Sardinia where marriage is also officially permitted. And there are those who even choose to say yes underwater."

There are many requests for beach weddings, they come mainly from Europe, where, moreover, there are around 20 million practitioners of naturism, in Italy the estimate is around 500 thousand. «An important opportunity for the development of active and eco-sustainable tourism», clarifies Tedeschi.

The initiative is supported and promoted by the Nudiverso association , committed to spreading and promoting, through festivals and initiatives, «the culture of shared nudity and – explains the president Pamela Deiana – the social perception of the naked universe in Italy, in its principles linked to well-being, sustainability, inclusion, taking care of places, the issue of consent, untying everything from the preconceptions and prejudices of those who associate nudity with sexual availability, a cultural aspect to be overcome."

«We are working – continues Deiana – to break down the fences, so that there are places of nudity without fences, in a proximity and peaceful coexistence between those who decide to keep the costume and those who choose not to wear it, a simple complete nudity which, if told with the right words, unites rather than divides."
