Giving the mayor and municipal administration a "digital voice" so they can communicate continuously and immediately with citizens and businesses . This is the idea behind SindacoAI , through which artificial intelligence supports municipalities by offering 24-hour assistance, in all languages, regarding services, taxes, and administrative procedures .

The new platform was developed by NVGroup, a Sardinian company, based in Cagliari with sales offices in Milan and Rome, specialized in the development of technological solutions for local authorities and public services, led by Enrico Orrù, originally from Oristano .

A further evolution of the public administration's digitalization process, a project designed to simplify the relationship between citizens and institutions and make services more efficient. Among the most innovative features is the ability to communicate in all major languages, allowing foreign citizens, international businesses, and tourists to access information and services.

With Sindaco AI, municipalities can improve the quality of public services by reducing the workload on their branches . NVGroup has created a demonstration version of the platform, set in the Municipality of Arno, a simulated municipality created to reproduce the daily requests and interactions between citizens and the administration. The platform is also designed to integrate with the digital tools used by local authorities, so municipalities can use AI without disrupting existing infrastructure.

"Every day, municipalities must manage thousands of information requests," explains Enrico Orrù, CEO of NVGroup. " We imagined a system that could give the mayor a digital voice, allowing him to communicate with citizens simply and immediately . With SindacoAI, the municipal administration can be present and available 24 hours a day, improving access to services and reducing response times."

How did this idea come about? "We work extensively with municipalities and realized that there was a lack of contact with citizens, with customers, who were seen merely as taxpayers ," explains Orrù. "How can I pay the Tari (waste tax)? Where can I get a good coffee or a delicious fish lunch? And the avatar, which is chosen by the municipality and can be the mayor himself or a historical figure from the town, responds. But SindacoAI isn't just a way to provide service information to citizens: "The municipality needs to start taking ownership of the land and selling it. Many small municipalities are deserted because they're not attractive, so what better way to sell themselves? SindacoAI can also help small towns without services in terms of quality; in fact, our target is small municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants." Among the 192 languages available, Sardinian and several dialects are also used.
