From Easter in Aggese (which opens the program) to "Islands that Speak," from Slow Food Gallura events to the Vermentino di Monti Festival, over 350 initiatives are funded by Salude & Trigu, the main territorial marketing initiative promoted by the Sassari Chamber of Commerce to promote the identity, traditions, and local products of Northern Sardinia. Launched in Olbia, which is one of the project's key promotional hubs thanks to dedicated information and advertising spaces within Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, the program involves 77 municipalities in Northern Sardinia, creating a calendar spread between April and December. This strategic choice, it was emphasized during the launch, aims to highlight the shoulder months in particular; over 70% of the events will be organized outside the peak summer season, with the goal of promoting experiential and authentic tourism year-round. Gallura plays a key role within the network, with 23 municipalities participating.
A total of 35 applications were received from the local area, 25 of which were admitted to the 2026 network. To support the organization of the events, beneficiaries in the Gallura area will be awarded vouchers worth up to €18,000, intended to cover part of the expenses. "With today's presentation in Olbia, Salude & Trigu consolidates its role as a bridge between businesses and the region," said Stefano Visconti, president of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce. "We have reached our eighth edition with renewed strength: a budget exceeding one million euros and a network that covers over two-thirds of the province. Our goal remains to internationalize our traditions, supporting organizers with coordinated and modern communication." The program, launched in 2019 with the aim of creating synergies between businesses, associations, and regions, will continue to be one of the main tools for promoting culture and tourism in the area in 2026. This year's edition has a budget of over one million euros, intended to support a network of 100 events selected from 156 applications received.
The new edition's calendar is structured around four major thematic areas that showcase the identity of Northern Sardinia: 17 events showcase typical local products, 24 showcase folklore and traditional rituals, 46 events focus on the visual arts, music, and literature, and 13 other major events. "Salude&Trigu is going from strength to strength," stated Pietro Esposito, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce. "Modern musical and folkloric initiatives featuring traditional cuisine and the opening of wine cellars will be featured.
The number of municipalities is growing, and so is the communication strength of our network; not only is the Chamber of Commerce investing, but it is also promoting a very important collaboration among community organizers, who are now intersecting with the events. "When we talk about this program," Esposito concluded, "we are talking about a national case, given that the calendar is becoming a reason for vacationing on the island. The new phase of the Chamber's action increasingly involves all local stakeholders, such as Cipnes, with which this partnership will be strengthened." Alongside the events, the project includes a comprehensive communications plan that includes a dedicated website, coordinated management of social media channels, and a co-branded column to increase the visibility of the Salude & Trigu brand on national and international markets.
