After returning to the island last week, from the religious trip to Bosnia Herzegovina, they all began to suffer from strong symptoms attributable to Covid 19 and went to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata hospital.
Here the pilgrims tested positive as mentioned and were then hospitalized. Their health conditions are considered "serious" by doctors.
Over a dozen cases of positivity were found among the other 180 participants in the pilgrimage, all residing in the province of Sassari. Their symptoms are mild and therefore only home isolation with medical monitoring has been triggered.
