A mass in the park of Casa Serena, the municipal residence for the elderly, to commemorate the guests who died due to Covid.

The intimate and touching celebration that took place on Saturday was wanted by the director Barbara Fozza, who also invited all the associations and realities that supported the home for the elderly in those months.

«There are experiences that are imprinted on the soul leaving an indelible mark - said director Fozza - scars that for us have the names and faces of our elders who have passed away directly or indirectly due to Covid. We strongly feel the desire to greet them because in those hectic and painful days we were not able to do it as we would have liked".

The Mass was officiated by Don Eugenio Cavallo . During the moment of the offertory, a suit and a helmet used in the period of the coronavirus by the health personnel were also delivered to the altar.

Mayor Nanni Campus was present: «I have never done it publicly, but I confess that if I have decided not to run again it is because I would not be able to relive an anguish like that of those months. And, for a doctor, anguish is suffering what patients and their relatives suffer. Even those who attacked us, while we fought to defend you. I will never forget that dramatic experience lived with you, having an angel like Dr. Fozza at my side».
At the end of the celebration, Don Cavallo planted a tree in the park, a symbol of the future to which we must always look with hope.
