Sassari: The city council allocates over half a million euros for the New Year's Concert.

Immediately block the "global celebrity artist" who will perform in Sassari on New Year's Eve. With this goal in mind, the council yesterday approved the policy document for the Culture, Tourism, and Major Events sector, which, as the measure states, "will identify and contract the exclusive agency for the chosen artist in order to guarantee the 2027 New Year's Eve event."

To be held, as in the last edition with Max Pezzali, in Piazzale Segni or another place suitable for holding a large audience of people attracted by the event.

Booking the performer is the most immediate step required and will involve signing a contract worth nearly €564,000 to prevent the opportunity from slipping away and costs from rising between now and the holidays.

The technical opinion provided by the Financial and Tax Policies sector states that the coverage is ensured "by the use of RAS funds transferred to the Municipality of Sassari for the complete reporting of expenses incurred for the organization of the "New Year's Eve 2024 Events Program" for €213,497.53 and the temporary use of a portion of the funds set aside for Engie adjustments for €350,142.54, the collectability of which will be determined at the end of the year."

The tight timeline also requires approval for the budget change, which must be ratified by the executive branch and will need to be approved by the council chamber. The remaining expenditure, from security to various services, is conservatively estimated at approximately €1 million and, it is reported, "will be allocated during the planning of resources deriving from the addition to the Single Fund established by Bill 203/A, approved by the Regional Council on August 12, 2026." This established a spending increase for 2026, along with a series of measures with specific constraints, such as, "for example, the provision of grants to municipalities for organizing the 'New Year's Eve Events Program – 2026', for which an application will be submitted to participate in the related regional call for proposals."
