Off the road on the Due Mari: 31-year-old from Sassari thrown from the pick-up in very serious condition

The 31-year-old from Sassari who went off the road on the "Due Mari" , at the twelfth kilometer along provincial road 42, is hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the civil hospital of Sassari.

The accident occurred in the afternoon, shortly after 3pm when the young man began to skid while aboard a pick up. He lost control of the vehicle and hit a metal fence before stopping off the road .

The man, Bernardo Antonio Brau , was thrown out of the cockpit and after flying a few meters he violently impacted the ground . The health workers on board the 118 ambulance, which arrived from Alghero, transferred him in code red to Santissima Annunziata where he is hospitalized in very serious conditions . Doctors found him to have serious head trauma and several injuries.

The traffic police inspector was on site to investigate and reconstruct the dynamics. The 31-year-old may have fallen ill . The Alghero firefighters intervened in the emergency to make the road safe.
