Over 3,800 non-standard toys were seized by the local police of Sassari in a resale in the industrial area of Predda Niedda.

During an inspection by the firefighters in the warehouse where the sale of various products takes place , irregularities in safety and fire prevention regulations were found.

The municipal officials checked the goods displayed to the public and discovered the presence of thousands of packs of illegal games: rubber puppets, remote-controlled cars, luminous soft toys, yoyo yoyos, plastic light swords, abacuses, all without trademarks. European conformity, i.e. labelling.

Many items had the CE (China Export) mark, in violation of the consumer code. Furthermore, the packages of numerous other games were found to lack data on the origin of the product, on the construction characteristics, on the manufacturing company: they contained information written exclusively in Chinese, did not present warnings on the safety of the product and on the age of children above below which games cannot be played.

Finally, some packages had imitations of games produced by leading companies in the manufacturing of children's products.
