Sassari: off-duty policeman stops thief fleeing from Coin with a jacket

This is the outcome of this morning's direct hearing, in court in Sassari, against a 42-year-old from Alghero who, yesterday, attempted to steal a jacket from Coin and was stopped immediately afterwards by a policeman off duty who was recalled by the cries of a shop assistant. . The soldier had bruised his finger in an attempt to block the fugitive.

The man had first attempted to escape on a bicycle, a vehicle in which the item of clothing had also ended up ruined. The man from Alghero has long been living in a difficult condition caused by drug use and cannot count on accommodation , a reason which certainly contributed to the decision of judge Giuseppe Grotteria.

The lawyer Sabrina Falchi defended the man, accused of improper robbery and injuries, while the prosecutor was Angelo Beccu.
