No more trips in the dark in the tunnel on the 195 at the height of Sarroch. After six years of waiting the viaduct in the Cacip road section has been illuminated.
The lights had already been tested in 2018 thanks to a UPS, but they never worked due to the lack of an electrical cabin nearby to power the system.
The lights only come on when a vehicle is about to pass, thanks to a camera positioned 110 meters from the tunnel entrance. A solution that therefore combines safety and energy saving.
"Finally, thanks to the commitment of the Consortium and the municipal administration, we have managed to illuminate this tunnel, where in recent years there have been several road accidents due to darkness", declared the mayor of Sarroch Angelo Dessì, who underlines how the lighting is "fundamental" for the safety of this stretch of road and hopes that Anas will intervene to fix the traffic in other places as well.
