Ryanair intervenes in the case of the five Sardinians – including two who are seriously disabled – who were left stranded at Bologna airport in recent days.

The departure for Alghero was set for 11pm but, as a passenger told us, all but the five islanders were embarked. “And – he added – when they did it it was too late”. Once shuttled under the plane, the pilot would push them away.

"It is unacceptable that no special assistance was provided at Bologna airport for these passengers - writes Ryanair in a note - Bologna airport was unable to provide the special assistance services booked by these passengers for their flight from Bologna to Alghero (of 19 July) despite the fact that Ryanair paid for this service».

"It is unacceptable - concludes the company - that Ryanair customers who need special assistance do not receive adequate support from Bologna airport and we are working with them to ensure that this does not happen again".

Finally, it is underlined that the passengers were re-routed, without additional costs, on the first available flight the following morning (July 20).
