Yesterday the admission of having beaten his partner Claudia Chessa, today the defense of his lawyer. Alessio Lupo Rivera, a twenty-seven year old DJ from Arzachena, is being investigated for the crimes of threats and injuries after, on the evening between Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd , the eighteen year old fell from the balcony of a room on the fourth floor of the H Hotel in Malta.
"We are not dealing with an ogre, he is not the classic violent man who beats the girl," Egidio Caredda, Lupo's lawyer, told the Ansa agency. " We are faced with a different context, made up of fits of jealousy and lack of mutual respect. And we see this from the videos that Alessio also made that evening . He had used his cell phone to film the arguments with the girl. We have a video made by placing the cell phone on the bedside table of the hotel room, in which you can see and hear the argument between the two, and then it stops when she moves towards the window. The audio and video contributions are many and also concern the past, because my client had taken the habit of recording all their continuous arguments as a form of self-defense."
According to what the 27-year-old told his lawyer, Lupo went downstairs from the hotel immediately after the incident, "finding the girl standing and not lying on the floor," and she herself asked him to stay close to her. "Alex, stay here with me," she told him, but when the ambulance arrived, she did not want to be accompanied by her boyfriend. " Alessio, however, chose to go to the hospital anyway and remained there until the Maltese police arrived ," the lawyer concludes.
Lupo risks attempted murder charges . According to judicial sources, the Tempio Prosecutor's Office - working for several days together with the Flying Squad of the Sassari Police Headquarters - is awaiting indications from the Maltese Prosecutor's Office, which could find elements to charge the twenty-seven-year-old with attempted murder. Lupo, for the moment, is not registered in the register of suspects of the Gallura Prosecutor's Office.
