The mistral has been blowing over Sardinia since yesterday evening and if, on the one hand, it swept away the pall of heat that had persisted on the island for days, on the other it represents a further danger from fires.
There are several fires that are registered today, the alert is high for new outbreaks that can be fueled by the wind. The gusts also reach 70 km/h.
Several teams are already in action, including from the national fire system.
The Sarcidano burns again, with the flames flaring up shortly after 4 pm in Isili near the outdoor municipal swimming pool. One of the most worrying situations is that of Nule . One Canadair and three regional helicopters are operating on site. And also in the Muravera area, Colostrai , near the beach.
While under control after the intervention of the firefighters are the fires in Quartu Sant'Elena and Selargius, where brushwood burned.
The fire danger will remain high also for tomorrow. The alert is orange level.
