ADVICE - Avoid going out during the hottest hours, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, especially for those at risk. Indoors, protect yourself from the sun's heat with curtains or blinds. In general, eat light meals and plenty of fruit, drink adequately, and avoid alcohol and caffeine.
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and hats, and avoid synthetic fibers. If there are sick people in the home, make sure they aren't overly covered. Those at risk include: the elderly, those who are not self-sufficient, or those recovering from illnesses, people who regularly take medications, infants and young children, and those who exercise or perform intense work outdoors.
In addition to the health risks, the fire risk will also remain high.
