Motorists noticed the change this morning when municipal workers appeared in Piazza d'Armi.

Barriers have been erected in the square to delimit the roundabout, which will replace the five traffic lights currently regulating traffic.

Test runs for buses are scheduled for today . "If the results are positive," explains Traffic Councilor Yuri Marcialis, "we'll proceed with laying the horizontal markings and positioning the jerseys (safety barriers) in their final positions." Then the traffic lights will be retired for good.
