The small community of Lussurge against the giants of wind energy : Enel Green Power and the private company VCC Scano-Sindia who want to build a mega wind park in Montiferru and Marghine.

The City Council, led by Mayor Diego Loi, unanimously votes against it because it is «devastating for the environment and landscape» . No to the Park but yes to energy from renewable sources: «We are in favor of renewables, but we are against any form of prevarication. The strategic choices for the development of the territory must be made wisely by the communities that inhabit it and live it».

Even the opposition votes no, the "Sindia" wind project is even very dangerous "because the installation of wind turbines could irreversibly compromise the aquifers of San Leonardo", specifies the group leader Giovanni Matta. No also for the Macomer 2 project, but it would be advisable "to open a discussion table with Enel to better understand the objectives and verify the presumed benefits for the community".

Negative opinions also from Italia Nostra, the non-profit association for the protection of cultural and natural heritage, led by Graziano Bullegas, and from the Legal Intervention Group of President Stefano Deliperi: « It is speculation by multinationals, a new form of energy colonialism . We are not against wind farms but we want the communities and local authorities together with the Region to decide where to build them».

The two Sindia and Macomer2 wind projects envisage a total of 17 towers of over 200 meters in Scano Montiferru, 9 in Santu Lussurgiu, even 44 in Sindia, with a power of hundreds of megawatts. Works with a disruptive environmental impact that would irreversibly change the territory.
