Administrators have been trying for over eleven years, but approval of the PUC and PUL in Santa Giulia has never gotten off the ground. This means volumes are blocked, fewer building opportunities, and consequently, less development for the area. However, 2026 should be the right year: the 2026-2028 budget, approved for the first time before Christmas, on December 22nd to be precise, included significant resources for the design of the two urban planning documents.

Another piece of good news for residents is that municipal taxes, namely Tari and Imu, have remained unchanged. "We can't burden the community," explains Deputy Mayor Pier Paolo Erbì. "Having approved the budget on time, Santa Giusta has a €9 million financial package that will help revitalize many areas of the town, meaning we can spend the resources immediately. "We received €150 million from the Region for the PUC project, and €58,000 for the Coastal Use Plan," Erbì explains. "This money will be spent immediately, given that it's a long and complex project due to the numerous constraints related to hydrogeological risk." This is due to the proximity to the lagoon, but also to the sea. Therefore, the document should be presented to the City Council for adoption by 2026.

The financial planning document includes significant sums earmarked for projects that, if all goes well, will allow for the completion of works that have been waiting years to be inaugurated. Among these, the civic museum on Via Giovanni XIII stands out: the municipality has budgeted an additional €300,000 for the building's completion and subsequent opening. The doors of the facility, built in the 1980s, are still closed, despite regional funding over the past ten years. Another €250,000 has been earmarked for the completion of the road safety park in Cuccuru 'e Portu, funded some time ago as part of territorial planning. The roads are in place, but electric cars are lacking. Another €300,000 has been earmarked for the completion of Riberas Park, which will create a vast green space. A staggering €851,000 has been allocated for the redevelopment of the town's soccer field.

Another €500,000 will be used to complete and upgrade the mountain refuge, and €200,000 will be used to build new walkways along Sassu beach. Another €130,000 will be used to renovate the façade of the parish house. "Work from the sea to the mountains," Erbì explains. "We'll soon see many construction sites. I thank the offices for their work; we're delighted to have approved the budget ten days before the deadline. I'd like to point out that all social services have been confirmed, including those for the town's youth and the elderly."
