In Santa Giusta comes the feast of the patron saint, but also many rules to be respected to avoid a fine. This is foreseen by a municipal ordinance which governs the parade of carts which will take place on Sunday morning 7th May along various streets in the town to transport the wood which will be lit on the occasion of the traditional bonfire on 13th May.

A religious event deeply felt by the citizens which will, as always, kick off the celebrations of the patron saint and which years ago, however, had turned into a goliardic event. That's why once again the mayor has decided to sign an ordinance to prohibit various behaviors.

THE BANS

There are many prohibitions that can be read in the document also published on the municipal notice board: no to bathe in the fountain in the square of the Romanesque basilica as happened years ago and to spray the water for fun. Then it is forbidden to sing obscene songs that could offend the religious spirit of the participants, to display banners with not very nice phrases and inappropriate accessories on the sides of the floats. Furthermore, unjustified stops which can slow down the parade and create traffic problems are prohibited. No to the use of hearing aids.

THE RULES

Another rule that participants must respect during the parade: you must not drop wood in the streets. Attention then to the oxen: it is absolutely forbidden for them to be put under strain. "All this - reads the ordinance signed by the mayor of Santa Giusta Andrea Casu - to ensure the smooth running of the parade and respect for tradition".

The ordinance was also sent to the Oristano police headquarters, to the local police station and to the various companies that will transport the wood. The stretches affected by the parade of floats are via Giovanni XXIII, Manzoni, Fermi, Darsena and Othoca.
