Great and well-attended celebration for the hundredth birthday of Francesca Farci, known as Cicita , born in Sant'Anna Arresi which in 1923 was a hamlet of Giba.
Here as a young man she worked for some local families and then married at the age of 20, in the midst of the Second World War, with Efisio Mei, a farmer and later a miner in the mines of Seruci and Serbariu in Carbonia: they had 6 children, 4 females and 2 males, and 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
After getting married she dedicated herself completely with great love to the family from which she constantly receives a lot of affection , all without missing out on some hobbies such as tending greenery, making tablecloths and doilies with crochet, of which she has collected about a thousand of pieces, and sewing: she has always made and arranged clothing for her children, and dresses in traditional clothes for the dolls that she created herself.
Always lucid and with a great historical memory, she keeps alive many stories in particular of the twenty years of fascism, of which she recalls a visit by the Duce to Sulcis.
The mayor Maria Teresa Diana could not miss the party, who for the occasion wanted to pay homage to her grandmother with a beautiful commemorative plaque, and Don Pietro Piras, the village parish priest.
