The two days dedicated to tziu Antoni Cuccu and his work of safeguarding and enhancing the cultural, poetic and literary heritage of Sardinia ended with great success in San Vito . An initiative wanted by the municipal administration and realized with the collaboration of the Pro Loco of San Vito.

Antonio Cuccu was a very simple person, he traveled around Sardinia listening to the poetic competitions among the village festivals with the verses collected in his little books which he then sold in the squares. An extraordinary figure that many remember throughout Sardinia . Two evenings were dedicated to him with Sardinian improvisers, young and old. In the early evening, Lussorio Cambiganu, Piersandro Pillonca, Anna Cristina Serra and the councilor Danilo Melis performed, a moment to remember and reflect on the life and work of the vagabond publisher.

The debate was interspersed with the reading of some poems sent from all over Sardinia to honor tziu Antoni. Following this, the young cantadoris Simone Monni of Burcei, Luca Panna of Quartu and Matteo Frau of Castiadas took to the stage led by maestro Antonio Pani from Quartu and accompanied on the guitar by 17-year-old Francesco Picci, also from Quartu, who gave proof of their skill in two versadas. A large and attentive public filled the Piazza Santa Barbara applauding with pleasure at each "versu".

In the second evening the debate "Su Benidori de sa Lìngua nosta" was held in Casa Cauli. The associations Spaciada sa Bregùngia and Acadèmia de su Sardu took part and subsequently presented their work. For our Municipality it was a historic moment as for the first time it was discussed about linguistic policy. "They were two evenings of extraordinary culture - said the mayor Marco Siddi: San Vito thus wanted to honor the memory, history, culture, love for poetry of Antoni Cuccu, an extraordinary figure who helped to safeguard our culture".
