San Vito, Quartese in trouble for the "water purifier scam"
A 48-year-old reported after a 33-year-old woman reported falling into the "trap"
The Carabinieri of San Vito have reported a forty-eight year old from Quartu Sant'Elena, known to the police for several episodes, for aggravated fraud and impersonation.
The man had sold a domestic water purification system to a 33-year-old woman, charging 500 euros.
But not only did the woman never receive the implant, but she also discovered that the 48-year-old had used her data to finalize a further sales contract for the same object, at the same time activating a financial loan for the amount of the purchase that she woman would have to pay off in numerous installments.
After realizing that she had been scammed, the woman blocked the loan through the bank, limiting the damage, and then turned to the military who conducted the necessary investigations to report the scammer to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
