Only the symbolic accessories of the day: a veil, a bow tie and a bouquet of fresh flowers. For the rest, everyone is naked: the bride and groom, the celebrant and the guests.
The Is Benas coast, in the Municipality of San Vero Milis, the beach dedicated to those who love to live in freedom, hosted the first naturist ceremony. It was a renewal of wedding vows made possible by the collaboration between the Nudiverso association, which has been committed for years to spreading and promoting, through festivals and initiatives, the culture of nudity, and the municipal administration. It was the Municipality itself that gave a hand to the newlyweds Massimo and Paola to organize the event. It made the gazebo available for the ceremony and the wedding decorations. The administrators also gave the bouquet as a gift.
The ceremony took place in front of the sea, on the stretch of beach authorized for nudity, a stone's throw from the coast frequented by those who prefer to stay in their swimsuits.
"Paola and Massimo, two Sardinian citizens, got married three years ago - says Pamela Deiana, president of the association - but they wanted to repeat the wedding without veils. And since in Is Benas there is the possibility of being naked on the beach we all went together to this location. It was a very intimate party, felt by everyone. Even the bathers who were a few meters away from us, in the stretch where everyone wears a swimsuit, approached us. No embarrassment, let's be clear. Already in the morning many curious people approached us to ask us what would happen shortly after".
The Municipality of San Vero Milis has been working for weeks to put on paper a resolution of the Council to make the naturist beach of Is Benas also a setting where the civil rite can be officially celebrated.
