There are those who walk calmly, as if nothing had happened. Yet that enormous "dangling" cliff that could collapse at any moment is very evident. But there are also deep ditches covered with barriers: so it's better to be careful where you walk.

In the village of San Giovanni di Sinis this time too it will be a summer full of dangers. Last year's problems have not yet been resolved.

The mayor of Cabras Andrea Abis, however, raises his hands this time: «To secure the area in recent years we have proposed everything, the papers and the money spent on reports, opinions and in-depth analysis speak for themselves. However, the Superintendence has always rejected the projects presented by the Municipality. We can't do anything anymore."

Every year the Municipality places a barrier to prohibit transit on the wooden staircase leading to the beach, but this is punctually moved.

Abis admits that in the summer he doesn't have peaceful nights: «I know well that if something serious were to happen it would be the Municipality's fault, and therefore mine. But it is also true that we have done everything possible to make the area safe. The Superintendence, after the rejection of the last project presented by the administration, formulated by a geotechnical engineer expert in controlled collapses, asked us for further reports but we currently have no other design alternatives. We cannot spend any more precious resources and then get nothing. The last report alone cost 5 thousand euros. We never counted how much we spent in total."

The controlled collapse of the cliff was rejected because, according to the Superintendency, it could damage the tombs near the area.
