Work carried out in conditions of particular exposure to the sun is suspended during the hottest hours of the day. This is provided for by an order from the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, which takes effect immediately and will remain in effect until August 31st. The ban from 12:30 pm to 4 pm – but under certain conditions – affects the agriculture, horticulture, construction, and plant engineering sectors.

The ban applies only on days when the Worklimate platform reports a "high" risk level for heat stress for 12 noon.

The measure affects the entire region and is aimed at protecting the health and safety of workers during periods of intense heat.

The ban does not apply to public utility, civil defense, and public safety operations carried out by public administrations, public service concessionaires, and their contractors, including Forestas. In these cases, it is still mandatory to adopt all organizational and preventive measures required by workplace safety regulations.

The Region also reminds that failure to comply with the ordinance may result in the application of the sanctions provided for by Article 650 of the Criminal Code (arrest of up to three months or a fine of €206), unless the act constitutes a more serious crime.
