At the San Gavino Foundry, after the announcement by Portovesme srl, owner of the plant, of the next stop on the lead line due to energy price increases, concern is growing day by day.

Unions and the RSU are involved in the dispute but the fear of employees is strong. Here, in addition to the sixty direct workers, there are temporary workers and maintenance, canteen, cleaning and other services for a total of over one hundred paychecks , a considerable number in a country that has just over 8700 inhabitants and in a territory in which industrial desertification has been massive.
