San Gavino, fire near the cemetery: state road 197 from Sanluri closed

The flames give no respite to Medio Campidano and this afternoon a fire that had been put out in the morning at the gates of San Gavino Monreale has regained strength.

Thus the state road 197 was closed to traffic in the section that leads from Sanluri to San Gavino Monreale.

A helicopter departing from the Marganai base is also in action to try to tame the flames. The deployment of means is huge and in particular of the men of the Sanluri environmental and forestry supervisory body, of the Sanluri firefighters with the civil protection volunteers of the Euro 2001 association of San Gavino Monreale.

Meanwhile, the carabinieri of the San Gavino station and the Villacidro company, together with the municipal police of San Gavino, are involved in regulating traffic and preventing access to the area affected by the vast fire.
