This past was the last Easter for the historic San Benedetto market in Cagliari. Not surprisingly, there was an atmosphere of amarcord between traders and customers. With the widespread hope of being able to repeat the experience soon, in the garages, once the renovation work has been completed. The tender specifications provide for a three-year construction period and few are under any illusions about a possible early closure of the works.

During the renovation, sales will be hosted in the temporary structure set up by the Municipality in Piazza Nazzari , between the Opera House and the Music Park. All that remains are the tests and the final tasks on the fire prevention system. But the parking lots also remain to be fixed. It is assumed that the market will be moved by May but, considering that at the beginning of June there will be a vote to renew the city council and elect the mayor, it is likely that the "ribbon cutting" will be postponed.
