Thus the President of the Region, Christian Solinas , opened his speech, which was also staged in the Regional Council amidst opposition policies and criticisms , on the occasion of the celebrations for "Sa Die de sa Sardigna" , a day of pride for the Sardinian people. in 1993 to commemorate the revolt of the Sardinian Vespers.

" Sa Die is a festival that enhances the identity spirit of the Sardinians - continued President Solinas - The idem sentiment of a people, with its own language, its own history, its own traditions and its own territory, must find exaltation in celebrating the roots of its unity and the common national sentiment. 'Sa festa manna' , long coveted and awaited, testifies to the unshakable magical bond that indissolubly unites Sardinians to their land and that finds few equals in the world. celebrations awaken in citizens, remain in the heart and we want to renew them precisely at the moment in which we find ourselves emerging from a particularly acute crisis of a socio-economic and health nature ".

The President of the Region then also focused on the " winds of war that blow at the gates of Europe", expressing "the firm and decisive condemnation against the war in progress" and recalling that "today's celebrations also focus on the values of peace and solidarity , cornerstones on which the traditions, uses, customs and history of the Sardinian people are based ".

The intense program of the day proposed by the Region began with the celebration, in the Cathedral of Cagliari, of the Holy Mass officiated by Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi . During the day, "Sa Manifattura" in Cagliari hosts various events, up to 10pm, including the historical re-enactment of "Sa Die de sa Sardigna". Also in the premises of viale Regina Margherita , there are educational benches on the Nuragic period, the Giudicale period and the 1700s.

After some historical re-enactment events, the celebrations will be closed by a contest of improvisational poets (at 7:30 pm), "Sa die de s'acciappa" , and by a theatrical performance, starting at 8:30 pm.
