Roundabout at the "cursed" crossroads for Bancali: the ball passes to the Province
A critical trait, which has led to several serious accidents, some even fatal: the municipality's ok with the urban variant
The municipal council of Porto Torres has unanimously approved the definitive urban variant that will allow the Province of Sassari to start the construction site for the construction of the roundabout at the intersection between the former state road 131 and the road to Bancali, one of the most dangerous that connect Sassari to Porto Torres, with connections for the provincial road 56 in the direction of Platamona.
The decision was made during yesterday's classroom session, during which the need was expressed to speed up the construction of the infrastructure for reasons of road safety. After the go-ahead from the Municipalities of Sassari and Porto Torres, it is up to the provincial administration to initiate the final steps to start work on the traffic divider roundabout project, a 600,000-euro intervention required to regulate traffic and secure the connection with the road axis for Sassari.
A highly critical stretch that has recorded numerous serious accidents, some fatal, due to the high speed and lack of precedence with which you face the exit from the provincial road to take the ex 131.
