Rivers of drugs, precisely hashish and cocaine, from Holland to Sardinia.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Commands of Cagliari and Livorno arrested 5 people at the disposal of the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Cagliari. Confirming what was established by the judges in January 2022, the Court of Cassation definitively condemned them for association aimed at the illicit trafficking of drugs .

We are talking about Alessandro Bruno, 49, who must serve 13 years and 8 months in prison; the 77-year-old Giuliano Meloni (5 years and 3 days); Corrado Pisano, 58 years old, (11 years, 3 months and 13 days); Efisio Usai, 56, who will have to serve ten years and two days and finally Maurizio Figus, 65, the only one arrested in Livorno who will have to remain in a cell for 6 years, 4 months and 17 days.

The 5, together with 20 other suspects, were involved in the "Sarrabus" operation in 2012 and locked up in prison as a precautionary measure.

They were part of an association, with branches in Foggia, Turin and Rome, which transferred large quantities of drugs from Holland to the island . The organization was divided into three supply chains based on the type of drug to be imported and the area of the island where to sell it, in particular Sarrabus, Cagliari and Medio Campidano.

15 people including couriers and drug dealers were arrested and large quantities of hashish and cocaine were seized , as well as various firearms and goods owned by known offenders in the Sant'Elia district of Cagliari.

More than 50 soldiers in the provinces of Cagliari and Livorno took part in the operation.
