The red weather alert also halted all Regional Council activities. The Third Budget Committee meeting, which was scheduled to analyze amendments to the Budget Bill prior to its final vote, was also cancelled.

The group leaders' conference, meeting remotely due to the emergency, has decided to postpone its work: the commission will meet on Wednesday, January 21st at 3:30 PM, while the Regional Council will meet on Thursday at 10 AM to begin examining the articles and amendments to the 2026/2028 budget plan.

The regional council is also at a standstill, grappling with court rulings regarding the ASL commissioners and, more importantly, with the selection of the three managers missing following the reinstatement of Flavio Sensi in Sassari, decided by the Regional Administrative Court. Negotiations are ongoing with the Democratic Party, which had previously expressed concerns about the commissioners. Now, after an initial three-way meeting between the president (and interim councilor) Alessandra Todde, Democratic Party secretary Silvio Lai, and M5S coordinator Ettore Licheri, informal contacts are ongoing, but it's uncertain whether the appointments will be finalized at the next council meeting, likely on Thursday.
