The merger of the two airports of Alghero and Olbia is positive if it relaunches the activity of the Riviera del Corallo terminal. The regional councilor of Forza Italia, Marco Tedde thinks so. «Let's look at the imminent creation of the Sardinian airport pole in a secular way, with the addition of Cagliari. But politics is vigilant - he says - so that the operation does not create a retreat in the flows of the Algherese airport".

So, no prejudice. «It is clear that F2I Ligantia Spa, a fund which holds the majority share capital, and which has invested in Alghero airport, has an interest in supporting the development of the three airports and creating wealth. But it is equally evident that these benefits must not be produced by penalizing the airport of Alghero, which in the future Sardinian airport system assumes the configuration of an earthenware vase among iron vases», underlines the former mayor of Alghero.

The role of the Region, in this phase, is essential, «not only in its capacity as shareholder, albeit a minority, of the company that manages the Alghero airport. But also, and above all - adds Tedde -, as a political regulator and institutional subject who is finally starting to create a new air transport system by financing new routes and deploying important resources for co-marketing operations and social aid".
